I've heard of kits that can fix your Xbox 360 if you happen to get the Red Ring of Death. Do any of these work, and do they void your warranty? Are there any other noteworthy tips or tricks?

I know of one temporary fix.

  • Turn on the xbox
  • Wrap the xbox in a towel and leave it running for about 20 minutes.
  • Unwrap the xbox and turn the xbox off and back on again.

    and the RRD should be gone. I believe it melts the adhesive to prevent the RRD, but its not a permanent fix. The RRD will return.
